Remove and clean the filter
The filter is in the bottom of the dishwasher — twist and pull to remove. Rinse under hot water, scrub with an old toothbrush and dish soap.
Wipe the door gasket
Mold and food scum build up in the rubber seal around the door. Wipe with a damp cloth and a dab of dish soap.
Clean the spray arms
Pop off spray arms (usually a twist or pull). Clear clogged holes with a toothpick. Rinse and reinstall.
Run a vinegar cycle
Place 1 cup of white vinegar in a dishwasher-safe bowl on the top rack. Run the hottest cycle with no detergent, empty otherwise.
Follow with baking soda
Sprinkle 1 cup baking soda on the bottom. Run a short hot cycle. Freshens and deodorizes.
