Unplug the unit
Always cut power before opening any appliance with coils.
Empty and wash the bucket
Pull out the water collection bucket, pour out the water, and wash with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue.
Clean the air filter
Pop out the filter (usually at the back). Vacuum it or rinse in warm water. Let it dry fully before reinstalling.
Wipe the coils
Use a soft brush to gently remove dust from the evaporator coils. Don't bend the fins — that kills efficiency.
Wipe exterior and reassemble
Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. Reinstall the clean filter and bucket. Plug in and run.
